FAQ

Do you hold public liability insurance?
  • Yes, all team members hold indemnity insurance coverage for $1,000,000.00 and I am happy to provide a photocopy upon request

Do you have a minimum booking time?
  • No, there is no minimum booking time.  I do like to spend at least 5 minutes with each child to fully develop the design that they choose. This allows me to accommodate approximately 12 children per hour. Please keep this in mind when booking as additional charges will apply.

How many faces can you paint in one hour?

  • I can paint on average  12-15 faces in an hour depending on the complexity of the designs chosen. Usually, for younger children, I have a basic selection of designs that are quick and easy to do to save them having to sit still for too long. For larger events where managing a line is a top priority, painting 20+ children with smaller designs can be accommodated.

Can you paint within the theme of my child's party?

  • Absolutely! Just let me know the theme of the party when booking and I will make sure to have some designs ready for the event. Though, keep in mind that more time may be needed per child depending on the complexity of the design and this may affect the booking time.

How soon should I book?

  • As soon as the date is confirmed.

Will I need to pay a deposit?

  • Yes. A 50% deposit will be needed within a week of booking. This secures your day, and the deposit will be used towards the cost of my services.

Please note this deposit is non-refundable. The remainder of the fee is due upon arrival, if the event is cancelled at any point after the event begins, you forfeit the entire payment .

The exception for the non-refundable deposit would be if Covid regulations change and events are no longer permitted to be held according to the local area. In this case, deposits can be fully refunded or transferred to another date.

What do I need to provide?

  • Absolutely nothing. I will bring everything I need for the day including paints, tents, chairs, etc.

What areas do you cover?

  • Edmonton, Fort Saskatchewan, Leduc, St. Albert, Spruce Grove, and areas. Do keep in mind that I am willing to travel into central and Southern Alberta, but a travel fee may apply. Contact me for more information.

How much do you charge?

  • My fee is dependent on guest list, location, date and event type - it is best to contact me directly for an exact quote.

Can you paint at Charity Events?

  • At the beginning of each year I allocate time for charitable events. Please contact me early in the year to ensure a spot.

Who Can be Painted?

  • Face paint is not recommended for children under 2 years old. However I can offer a small design on the hand or arm of younger children if requested and if your child would like it. If they cry or refuse in the chair, I will not paint them. We do not want to create negative experiences around painting!

What if my child objects?

  • If a child is reluctant to have his or her face painted, I cannot comply with the wishes of the parent or caregiver over the desire of the child. Young children do not always understand face painting - someone they do not know is doing something to them, which they cannot see - so a small design on the hand may be more enjoyable for them. They can see what is being done, feel in control of the situation, and can look at it and enjoy it for the rest of the day.

What if I have a rash or other skin condition?

  • Anyone who, at my discretion, appears to be suffering from a cold sore, conjunctivitis or any other infectious skin complaint cannot be painted. Similarly, eczema, open cuts and grazes are not suitable surfaces to paint. However, a design on the cheek, hand or arm is perfectly possible.

What about sickness ?

  • I am unable to paint anyone suffering from cold/flu symptoms. Hay fever sufferers are advised to have a design on the cheek, hand or arm. Lastly, I reserve the right to refuse to paint anyone who is abusive, violent or intoxicated.

How do I remove face paint?

  • The best way to wash off water based face paint is to use a warm wet wash cloth with soap. Baby wipes are not recommended  as some brands  can cause a reaction on facial skin.

What additional Covid Precautions do you take?

  • We do respect all on-going lockdowns. We will not be available during these lock downs for any events that violate the current lockdown rules.
  • We wear masks at all events
  • Prior to Covid, we used disinfectant wash on our brushes between children and individual sponges for paints. These safety measures are still on going.
